Unique Disney Collector Decor + LEGO Cinderella Castle Display

“…for you are the key to unlocking your own magic”

I love this little corner so much, and not just because of the hours of blood, sweat, and tears I put into that LEGO Castle. Could I have bought some sort of castle-replica? Absolutely. But having put this one together piece-by-piece 4,080 tiny bricks in a row… that part makes me love it even more. I mean, we’ve spent a LOT of time together.

Building my Disney LEGO castle was like three months of therapy. It made a fabulous excuse to re-watch old movies that I might not necessarily put on for myself on a Friday night, but still enjoy watching from time to time (i.e.- Fantasia!, Sleeping Beauty). I always find new inspiration in old movies like that.

It also gave me the opportunity to stumble upon a few new Disney Parks podcasts, although my favorite to date is still The WDW Radio Show. I mean, seriously— is there anything more therapeutic than the sound of Lou Mongello’s voice?

I digress.

The trinket dish was purchased this year off ShopDisney and is possibly still available to purchase, but other two elements of this arrangement are more meaningful.

The LIFE magazine article (I own two copies— one for display and one to read through) is a timeless piece and I just love the old photographs of the park.

However, possibly the most valuable pieces in my collection are my original Walt Disney World ticket books from Opening Day in 1971. As many of my fellow Disnerds know, when the park first opened a ticket cost a whopping $3.50. This ticket, however, only granted you entry into the park. Separate ticket books had to be purchased in order to ride the attractions, which were separated by categories A-E (with A being the lowest & ‘E’ the highest-rated attractions).

Anyway!

What’s the crown jewel of your Disney collection?
